We had a wonderful tournament in January. The rain and cold weather kept quite a few people away, but 30 of our members showed up and we had beautiful weather Saturday and Sunday. The format of the tournament was four round robins so every team played at least three rounds and the top three teams in each division went on to play on Sunday. Gary Edwards did a great job as usual setting up the tournament - thanks, Gary!

FEBRUARY TOURNAMENT
The February tournament will be held February 17 & 18, 2001. It will be a mens doubles and ladies doubles tournament. If you are planning to play in the February tournament, please sign up by Friday, February 16. To do so, you may sign up at the tennis center in Borrego Springs, email Gary at garyre@home.com or phone Gary at home at 619-390-8412 before Thursday of that week. After Thursday call Gary on his cell phone at 619-992-8412 or call Pete & Trish Azar on their cell phone at 619-889-0774. You may also phone one of our members who will be there and ask them to sign up for you. The draw will be completed by 9:00 P.M. Friday night and play will begin at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday morning.

APRIL BANQUET
On Saturday, April 21 we will have our traditional end of the season banquet. It will be held across the street from the tennis center at Palm Canyon Resort. Please mark this date on your calendar and be prepared to pay for the banquet at the March tournament. Betty Minkel has agreed to help with the banquet. The cost will be $20 per person, which will include a choice of Top Sirloin or Rosemary Garlic Half Chicken along with salad, vegetables, rolls, dessert and choice of non-alcoholic drink. This cost will also include tax and tip. There will be an opportunity for those of you who wish to order a vegetarian plate at the same price or children may have a child's plate at $10. We hope to have a good turnout for the banquet and for the April tournament, so plan ahead and bring a friend to join us!
